Supporting Regional WA

WA’s economic success is driven because of what’s happening in our regions - they are key to our State’s future

Roger Cook and WA Labor will always do what's right for regional WA. We're tackling cost of living, strengthening our health system and boosting housing supply.

Only the Cook Labor Government has the experience to keep WA's economy strong, protect our fair share of the GST and invest in regional schools and infrastructure.

We've made a record investment in regional WA

Over the next four years we're delivering a record $12.8 billion on regional infrastructure. This includes $3 billion over the next four years to subsidise power and water bills for regional Western Australians.

We've also guaranteed the future of Royalties for Regions, as promised, with $4 billion allocated to the program over the next four years.

Delivered a huge upgrade to regional roads

As part of our Regional Road Safety Program, we're upgrading over 10,000kms of regional roads by the middle of 2025. It's improving connectivity and road safety right across Western Australia.

Introduced a regional airfare cap, making airfares more affordable for regional West Australians

We're providing significant support to regional Western Australians with the cost of travel.

This includes boosting the Regional Pensioner Travel Card to $675, introducing and extending the Regional Air Zone Cap Scheme, and increasing the PATS fuel subsidy.

What else we're doing to help the cost of living in regional WA

  • Boosted the seniors' cost of living rebate to $107 for singles and $160 for couples to help ease some of those cost of living pressures.
  • Boosted our KidSport vouchers to $500 - helping more WA kids get involved with community sport.
  • Rolled out free period products in all public primary schools, high schools and TAFE campuses across the State - because getting your period should never be a barrier to getting a good education.
