We're making record investments in health and mental health across WA

WA has the best-funded hospital system in the country and as a result we're seeing our health system stabilise following the significant disruption of the pandemic.

Since 2021, we've made a record health and mental health investment, with an unprecedented $14.3 billion in new funding. As a result Western Australia has the highest level of health funding per person of any state in the nation.

We've added 709 new beds to the system in the past three years with more in the pipeline

We've delivered a huge increase in hospital beds across the State, equivalent to adding a new Fiona Stanley Hospital.

We've grown the health workforce by more than 30%

Despite global health workforce shortages, we have increased our health workforce by more than 30%. This includes more than 4,400 new nurses and 1,800 new doctors.

We're introducing nurse and midwife to patient ratios starting at the Perth Children’s Hospital Emergency Department.

We're expanding health infrastructure across to the State

We've made a $3.3 billion investment in health infrastructure, this includes the redevelopments of Bunbury Regional Hospital, Geraldton Health Campus, and the Peel Health Campus.

We've also committed to the construction of a new world-class Woman and Babies Hospital in Murdoch and investing in new and improved maternity services at Osborne Park Hospital.
