WA Labor built METRONET - connecting communities, transforming our suburbs and setting our State up for the future.

Our investments in regional roads will soon see 10,000 kilometres of improved safety upgrades right across regional WA.

And we're bringing back Main Roads workers into secure jobs – creating 550 new jobs, mainly in the regions, and giving those workers and their families the security of a permanent job.

Only WA Labor invests in public transport

In 2017 WA Labor promised to build our once-in-a-generation METRONET project – and we have delivered on that promise.

Through METRONET we're delivering 72 kilometres of new rail, 23 new stations and we've returned railcar manufacturing to WA

These projects have helped make WA's economy the best in the country, connecting Western Australians to jobs, education, and opened land for thousands of new homes.

WA Labor to deliver cheaper public transport

A re-elected Cook Labor Government will slash public transport fares under a new suburban flat fare – saving commuters hundreds of dollars each year.

Under WA Labor's new suburban flat fare, the current nine-zone fare structure will be abolished, meaning passengers will be able to go anywhere on the network for no more than $2.80 when using an autoloading SmartRider.

Delivered record investment in regional roads and capped regional airfares

As part of our Regional Road Safety Program, we're upgrading over 10,000kms of regional roads by the middle of 2025. It's improving connectivity and road safety right across Western Australia.

We've also introduced a regional airfare cap, making airfares more affordable for regional West Australians
