A re-elected Cook Labor Government will invest $22.5 million in a new Port Hedland Aquatic Centre.
The grant will enable the new aquatic facility to be built at the preferred site at Wanangkura Stadium in South Hedland.
When complete, the facility is likely to consist of an outdoor pool, indoor pool and a splash park.
The enabling funding will give stakeholders including the Town of Port Hedland and private investors the confidence to move forward with the project, which will provide South Hedland with a new landmark as well as deliver significant benefits to the broader community.
