A major new sports precinct in Manjimup will be a step closer to completion under a re-elected Cook Labor Government with WA Labor committing a further $1.25 million to the project.

The Shire of Manjimup’s Rea Park and Collier Street Redevelopment plan aims to transform the existing multi-use Rea Park and Collier Street Reserve into a premier-level sporting facility catering for high-level events, in addition to regular club usage and non-sporting events such as the Warren District Agricultural Show.

The project is being delivered across several stages.

The Cook Labor Government helped fund Stage 1 of the project, investing $483,000 to upgrade power and lighting at the facility.

If re-elected, the Cook Labor Government will commit $1.25 million to help fund Stage 2 of the project, which will involve playing field upgrades, improved drainage, player and spectator amenities and new events infrastructure.

This commitment takes WA Labor’s overall investment in Manjimup’s new sports precinct to more than $1.7 million.
