WA Labor has reaffirmed its commitment to reliable water supply in Kalgoorlie, announcing a $5 million contribution to the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder's Water Bank Project if re-elected.

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is one of very few local governments that recycles treated wastewater and harvests stormwater for re-use as a non-potable water supply.

This water is used to irrigate open spaces and other community facilities such as schools and parks.

The Water Bank project aims to improve recycled water storage and capacity by enhancing the ability to capture stormwater, boost the flow of recycled water and improve its quality to better service these community spaces.

This announcement reflects WA Labor’s commitment to supporting water security and other essential services in regional communities, helping to plan for a stronger future while addressing current needs.
