A re-elected Cook Labor Government will invest $2.5 million in a new voucher program to encourage WA kids and young people to attend cultural events and performances during their formative years.

WA Labor’s Access All Areas Pass for kids will be available to all young Western Australians aged from five to 15 years so they can attend an event at SciTech or one of the various arts, cultural and creative venues right across the State.

The $50 vouchers will increase young people’s engagement with WA’s world-leading arts and culture at a key time in their development by offsetting the cost of ticket purchases.

The program will also provide a boost to WA’s creative, culture and arts sector, with up to 50,000 vouchers to be spent with venues and organisations that employ WA artists, performers and events staff in Perth and WA’s regions.

Up to 120 participating venues and suppliers will provide access to a broad range of cultural events such as theatre, dance, live music, comedy, circus, SciTech and exhibitions.

WA Labor’s commitment builds on the Cook Labor Government’s significant investment in support for WA artists and creative industries, as well as helping WA families with the cost of living so they can get out and about and engage with their communities - through free events, free Perth Zoo passes, free Perth Royal Show entry, boosted KidSport vouchers and free entry to regional pools.
