A Perth facility which provides valuable equine therapy for children and adults of all abilities will be rebuilt under a re-elected Cook Labor Government.
Located at Graylands in Mt Claremont, the Claremont Therapeutic Riding Centre has provided important therapy, sport, recreation and training services for more than five decades and currently caters to around 150 riders each week.
Qualified coaches at the centre are trained to work with a variety of disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injury, paraplegia, and hearing, visual and intellectual impairments.
Today’s $10.6 million commitment will see the centre relocated and rebuilt at 9 John XXIII Avenue on the wider Graylands site, providing a like-for-like replacement and allowing for the redevelopment of Graylands.
Works on the new facility will commence as soon as possible, with the aim of moving to the new location by the end of 2027.
