One of Perth’s most-loved coastal precincts will receive critical upgrades under a re-elected Cook Labor Government.

WA Labor has announced it will invest $14.1 million to enhance Hillarys Boat Harbour, including improved safety and access.

The upgrades, part of the Hillarys Boat Harbour Master Plan, cover a significant program of works to improve and activate the precinct including:

  • a new youth plaza with skatepark, climbing wall, and service installation to support local events
  • universal access toilet
  • family change pavilion
  • two new signalised pedestrian crossings on West Coast Highway and Whitfords Avenue
  • improvements to connectivity around the precinct

The funding includes the recent commitment to expand the fishing platform and universal access toilet as part of WA Labor’s $23 million to support outdoor adventures.

Comments attributed to Premier Roger Cook:

“Hillarys Boat Harbour is a much-loved community and tourist precinct, and this investment will ensure the amenities and access keep pace with the level of demand.

“We’ll deliver a fantastic new youth plaza and family facilities and make it safer for people to access the precinct with signalised crossings at West Coast Highway and Whitfords Avenue.

“Only WA Labor will do what’s right for our local communities by investing in critical assets and precincts like Hillarys Boat Harbour.”
